RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS

APARTMENT AT WORLI

The apartment with a carpet area of 2500 sq. ft. is located at Worli. The client brief for the design was to use a lot of colour and add warmth.

We opted to use a mix of modernism with the Art Nouveau style to give it a unique character.

The furniture was selected with a mix of original antiques and reproductions and a lot of paintings and hand painted wall motifs were used to add colour and brighten up the space.

APARTMENT AT GHATKOPAR

The apartment with a carpet area of 2200 sq. ft. is located at Ghatkopar, Mumbai.

The client brief for the design was to create a simple home which feels like a home and has the warmth to match.

We used muted colours with some bold accents and a lot of wood and warm fabric to design the home to suit their requirements

APARTMENTS AT WALKESHWAR

The project involved repairs to an existing building and refurbishing of three apartments inside.

The building repair was limited by existing tenants and their preference to retain their exterior space with no alterations.

The 3 refurbished apartments were for purpose of renting out to MNCs and consequently, the interiors were basic and simple and most importantly, extremely cost effective.

COMMERCIAL & OFFICE PROJECTS

NINE FISH GALLERY, MUMBAI

The art gallery is located in the Great Eastern Mills compound in Byculla, Mumbai.

Housed in an old mill, the project was part  restoration and part renovation where we retained the entire structure and exposed the beautiful roof and trusses as well as some of the walls with the old paint - which were treated to hold the new art.

Minimum intervention with enhancement of some aspects of the space led to retaining the original old world charm of the space.

STRATCAP SECURITIES, MUMBAI

This office was to be designed for a financial sector firm and the client loves to have an old world charm and lots of wood in his space - be it home or office.

We used a lot of wood as well as some carved elements to give the space a sense of warmth and also the feel of solidity and stability and formality which goes hand in hand with the banking sector

OFFICE FOR PR FIRM, MUMBAI

Blue Lotus Communications is a PR firm with presence across the major cities in India.

Being a PR firm with a young and vibrant team ready to occupy the new office, the brief was that the office interior needed to suit this vibe. The office had to be fun, unconventioneal, colourful and vibrant.

We decided to opt for curved passages and furniture lines and a stone pathway running through the office, primary colours with the corporate blue being prominent and with providing a balcony huddle space for the occupants to use as a relaxation and huddle space.

OFFICE FOR TRA, MUMBAI

The site was the top floor of another heritage building in Colaba, Mumbai and had high ceilings with a painted wwooden sloping roof.

We added a mezzanine to increase seating capacity, exposed the wooden sloping roof and had it repolished and restored alongwith the trusses. To maintain a low budget, we used some innovative measures like reusing old multi-coloured mosaic tiles in the floor, simple plywood polished partitions and column covering; even the railing for the mezzanine was made of a wooden handrail with a thick thread running through in place of a grill or balusters.

This gave the entire office an industrial look and feel but maintained a warm atmosphere and interactive spaces.

OFFICE FOR INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECTURE FIRM, MUMBAI

The design for the office was conceived and detailed by the firm's US offices in coordination with their local team in Mumbai. The detailing of the design, sourcing of material and supervision of execution was carried out by us.

The concept was to house a finished modern structure within an old building. As such, the columns and brickwork around the windows was left open to give an industrial look while the other areas were finished in smooth finishes and off-white and grey colours, which was the primary colour scheme.

RETAIL PROJECTS

FICUS STORE COLABA, MUMBAI

The showroom was to act as a prototype for the brand which was launched towards the end of 2014.

The brand and prototype design was done by Ms. Sarika Bajoria of Performa Studio, USA. The showroom site was executed in collaboration and uder supervision of our team which undertook all local sourcing, coordination and finishing.

WAYWORD & WISE BOOKSTORE

In an era where we bemoan the closing down of bookstore, one maverick client has decided to open a new one. We were lucky to get an opportunity to work on this wonderful and unique project.

The bookstore is housed in a heritage building near GPO in Mumbai and has a hand-picked curated collection of titles that the CEO claims will be tough to find elsewhere... and we believe it.

SILKLAND FURNISHING, MUMBAI

The showroom was set in 2,500 sq. ft. space in a heritage building in Colaba, Mumbai.

Respecting this space, we retained the character of the old arcches and brick and stone walls and sourced suitable material to enhance the heritage aspects rather than obliterate them.

We used a lot of wood, stand-alone modular furniture, old cast iron grills, exposed ceiling with minimum intervention to bring out the intrinsic beauty of the space.

The construction of the tample commenced two years ago and so far the basement is complete and the first storey construction is undeway.

FICUS STALL ACETECH, MUMBAI

The Ficus brand deals in home and office furniture and accessires and the stall was designed to represent a villa with interwoven spaces in the available 1000 sq. ft. space to maximise the display and make the space interesting and interactive.

A mezzanine was added to give more space for exhibiting the furniture, etc. and also the enhance the villa impression with the mezzanine depicting balconies, etc.

The stall was designed keeping in mind the brand design and colour schemes.

LOGO, STATIONERY & WEBSITE

DESIGN FOR CANVAS N CHROME

TRAVEL CO.

Canvas N Chrome is a start-up tour and adventure travel company set up in the year 2013. The client came to us at the planning stage itself and we assisted with conceptualisation of the name of the company as well as the logo and branding. Eventually, we also designed and created the website. You can visit it here: www.canvasnchrome.com.

The design is still evolving as we are continuously working on improving existing designs, creating templates, flyers, motifs for mementos, promotional material, etc.

Our projects are diverse and range from bungalow designs and extensions to multi-storey apartment buildings, retail stores, showrooms, restaurants, hotel interiors, office interiors, villa and apartment interiors, repair and conservation of old buildings, custom furniture design to branding and logo design and recently - temple design. We believe in creativity and variety in work and love the challenges posed and learning opportunities provided by newer responsibilities bestowed upon us.

A few of our projects are showcased below. For more details, please get in touch through the details on our Contact page.

The projects below will demonstrate the diversity of design. We have worked on projects in over 20 cities in India as well as a villa design in Dubai. A list of our projects can be found here.
